Elections 08 mark a new era for the narrative of the African American community. The possibility of electing an African American president to be the head of a predominantly white structure often associated with oppression underlines the change the United States has undergone since the beginning of the civil rights movement in the late 50's. US Marine Corps Major Michael Williams is voting for Obama because of the change he will bring to the perception of African Americans.
