The shooter in the Nebraska mall shooting last week was a 19-year-old armed with an AK-47. This comes on the heels of a 21-year-old in my own community of Cortlandt who allegedly burned a cross in front of the home of an African-American family, this after his sister had a confrontation at school with a member of that family. Not long ago a young man took a gun onto the campus of Virginia Tech and committed the atrocities we all know about there. These are the publicized, extreme events. So many of our youth are struggling.
