With a focus on the Arab Spring and the importance of social media in peace activism, attendees will hear from a range of experts, participate in facilitated discussions, and enjoy international food and a performance.
With young adults in the Arab region harnessing social media to express frustration with existing regimes, attendees will gain their own sense of empowerment to make a difference in the world through new media. A final panel discussion on peace activism ties everything together with action-oriented next steps.
Featured speakers include: Nada Alwadi (Bahraini Press Association), Christoph Koettl (Amnesty International), Amira Maaty (National Endowment for Democracy)
