Abstract: Retaliatory violence in marginalized American communities has been a persistent challenge to overcome. We do not have an understanding of retaliatory violence that is sufficient enough to develop consistently reliable interventions. The Insight approach offers a compelling framework for doing so, however its claims have not been tested with the generalizable methods of social science. Inside Retaliatory Violence begins to take on that project by developing a scaling instrument to measure the performance quality of operations of consciousness, the change in which forms the basis of the Insight approach.
