Gendered Challenges in Academia - Discussion Group
Tuesday, November 17
2:00pm - 3:30pm
Metropolitan Building Room 5183,

The Center for the Study of Gender and Conflict would like to invite students, faculty, and staff to attend this discussion session on the experiences of gendered challenges in academia. This is intended to be a space where students and faculty can gather and discuss personal experiences, concerns, and potential strategies for change and solidarity on a broad set of issues related to gender and sexuality in academia.
For example, Harvard recently released a sexual climate survey. Of the female graduate students surveyed who said they had been sexually harrassed at Harvard, 21.8% reported that the offender was a faculty member. Or for instance, "70% of male faculty with tenure have children versus 44% of female faculty."
Please invite your colleagues and friends. All are welcome. Snacks will be provided by the Gender Center.
