Most major universities offer doctoral student writing intensives, S-CARlaunched a successful program last year in which students made tremendous progress. This year program is opening again.
Open to Doctoral and Masters Students
The program is now open to masters students and doctoral students at GMU. The intention of the seminar is to provide you one week of full-intensive focus.
Think of this week a JET FUEL for whatever writing project you are working on.
Come for all or some
While it is best to come every day to build momentum we don't want folks to miss out just because they have another commitment in the middle.
So please, do yourselves a favor, and clear your calendars to attend as much of this seminar as possible.
Benefit from time with peers!
Working alone can be wonderful, but again after a while it can feel isolating. Working in and around others help us work longer and harder. Plus you don't stop because of isolation. You can take a coffee break, cat and then dive back in together.
Working around others also enables us to share ideas hold ourselves accountable to daily goals and think through stuck places. You are also building your colleague network. Folks have found apartments through these groups and found co-teachers.
