Join us this Thursday at 2:30pm for "Grave of the Fireflies," the next installment of the Peace & Conflict Film Series at S-CAR's John Burton Library. The film will be followed by a group discussion of conflict themes.

This beautifully animated film "belongs on any list of the greatest war films ever made," according to Roger Ebert. Set in Japan in the final days of World War II, "Grave of the Fireflies" tells the story of a teenaged boy and his five-year-old sister struggling to survive hunger, homelessness, the indifference of older relatives, and the trauma of their experiences. It is a work of art that poignantly and painfully explores the human cost of war.

The John Burton Library is located on GMU's Arlington campus. We are on the 5th floor of the Metropolitan Building at 3434 Washington Boulevard, Arlington, VA.
