Professor Farhoumand-Sims is working with The North South Institute on a 3 year project looking at the relationship between state fragility and gender equality in Palestine, Haiti and Afghanistan. She is the lead researcher on the Afghanistan component of the project and was in Afghanistan in February 2008 to do some preliminary research on the subject matter and to identify a local research partner.
