Joseph Katona
Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Joey Katona (@JoeyKatona) is a full-time graduate student in George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution. From July 2012 through January 2015 he managed the Empathy Initiative at Ashoka, the world’s largest association of social entrepreneurs.
Prior to working at Ashoka, Joey was a Trial Manager at Covington & Burling LLC and Co-Founder of the Washington, DC-based social venture, SPACIOUS. As an undergraduate at the University of Virginia, Joey raised nearly $100,000 to finance the cost of his friend’s college tuition and expenses at Earlham College. Joey has also served on the Board of Directors of the restorative justice nonprofit, Offender Aid and Restoration since 2011. He and his wife Rebecca live in their 100-year-old Capitol Hill row house in Washington, DC.
