Master's Supplemental Admission Requirement

Master's Applicants:

The School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution started the first MS program in conflict analysis and resolution in the world. Today it is able to present the MS in a variety of formats to meet the needs of the evolving graduate student audience. S-CAR offers four unique master's level cohort experiences. Students have the flexibility to choose the cohort that suits their learning and/or scheduling needs and have the option of adjusting their enrollment status (part time to full time for example) during the course of their study.

Traditional MS Cohort

  • 41 credits total
  • part time or full-time enrollment
  • Arlington day, evening and weekend classes
  • 2 year+ program
  • fall or spring admission cycles

Full-Time Intensive Day Cohort

  • 41 credits total
  • 12+ credits per term
  • Arlington day classes
  • 15 month program
  • May start-August finish

Distance Learning Cohort

  • 41 credits total
  • online courses
  • 2-week residency requirement in Arlington at beginning of course
  • fall or spring admission cycles

Master's International Cohort (Peace Corps)

  • 41 credits total + 27 months of Peace Corps service
  • students can be part of any of the above cohorts’ with the exception of the full-time intensive day cohort
  • students take roughly 1-1.5 years of coursework, serve 27 months in the Peace Corps and return for one term of coursework
  • students must first be accepted into the MS program before starting the Peace Corps application process
  • students must be accepted into both the graduate program and the Peace Corps to be part of the Masters International
