Master of Science in Conflict Analysis and Resolution

Master's Application Requirements:

Ideally, a student accepted into the MS program has a strong record of academic achievement, a clear commitment to the goals of conflict analysis and resolution, and some documented experience, activity or training that is conflict-related.

  1. An earned Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or international equivalent must be verified from official transcripts.

  2. A 3.00 GPA (on a 4.00 scale) or better in baccalaureate study. If a student does not meet this requirement they may be accepted provisionally.

  3. A completed On-Line Application for Graduate Study: Students are to complete the application on-line at George Mason Admissions. Supporting documents are to be uploaded online (resume, goals statement and recommendation letters).

  4. Two official copies of transcripts from each undergraduate and graduate institution attended (Transcript Request Form). These are to be mailed directly from the University/Institution to our offices in Arlington. If the student mails transcripts to our offices, they must be in sealed unopened envelopes to be considered official. If you have any academic credentials from outside of the United States, please see the International Transcript Submission Guidelines.

  5. Goals Statement/Personal Essay. Please submit your goals statement based on the following prompt: Tell us something about how your past experience has prepared you to engage with conflict and how this program will equip you for your future. There is no word requirement.

  6. Two letters of recommendation. Recommendations should be submitted electronically online in the application. The applicant includes the name and contact information of those who will write a letter of recommendation. A link is emailed to the writer and they can submit their recommendation online. After the applicant submits the online application, you cannot change who is listed as the recommendation letter writers.
