Sudha Rajput, is a PhD holder from the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (S-CAR), at George Mason University. Sudha’s doctoral research focuses on the ineternal displacement of the of the Kashmiri Pandits, dispalced from the Kashmir Valley in 1989. Her multi-pronged study has investigated the impact of positions and perspectives of policyholders, host community and the IDPs and has scrutinized the resulting multiplier effect. Through field-based interviews with high level officials, business leaders of host communities and the IDPs living in a myriad of camps, this study has unfolded the many political, social, cultural and psychological dimensions of this daunting humanitarian challenge and the overarching phenomenon of internal displacement.
Sudha is currently teaching the Undergrad program at S-CAR, where she brings innovative learning in the classroom. Her class of 30 students work on simulating a United Nations Summit called to resolve a conflict in the Eastern Mediterranean. Preparation requires semester-long intensive coaching to empower the students with tools of conflict resolution and negotiation strategies to handle a conflict setting representing ten conflict parties.
Having worked at the World Bank, Sudha has a strong interest in the development issues. Sudha has an MBA from the University of Maryland and maintains interest in diverse issues of international trade.
Sudhas has strong grasp of financial management tools including, budget forecasting, audit and controls, trend and scenario analysis, monitoring and evaluation. In the course of her career at the World Bank, Sudha had developed and delivered training courses to over 400 World Bank staff. As a Unit Manager, Sudha managed an operational unit of 5 staff members, at the World Bank and portfolios of multi-million dollar donor funds.
As a Volunteer for the American Council for International Education, Sudha has spent considerable time as an Evaluator for the education exchange program initiated by the U.S. State Department.
Sudha’s has great passion in teaching, training and advising students and sees her future in an advisory capacity working with the World Bank, the United Nations, and the Norwegian Refugees Council.
