Course Description
This course offers students an opportunity to apply theories and concepts learned in CONF 330 (Community, Group and Organizational Conflict Analysis and Resolution) and other ICAR courses to a simulated ethnic conflict between multiple groups. The practice of conflict resolution is highlighted in the course, with a focus on collaborative peacebuilding. We will employ a simulation that was developed through the University of Colorado. It is available online at http://www.beyondintractability.org/simulations/peacebuilding/?nid=6777 Each student will adopt one role for the simulation, and as such, will serve as a representative of a particular group for the duration of the simulation.
