Biography

Yerevan Saeed is political analyst on the Middle East. He monitors, researches and writes analysis on security, political and energy issues in the Middle East, focusing in particular on Iraq, Turkey, Iran, the Persian Gulf and the Levant. He is the representative of Capital of Peace Organization (Halabja). He served as White House Correspondent for Kurdish Rudaw TV. Yerevan has written on Iraqi, Kurdish and Turkish politics, as well as security and energy issues. His works have been published in the Diplomatic Courier, New York Times, the London based Majalla magazine, Rudaw, Global Politician and Kurdish newspapers. In addition, he has been interviewed by Voice of America for TV & Radio, NPR, CNN, Voice of Russia and Kurdish TV programs and newspapers on the energy, security, political and foreign policy issues related to Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, Turkey and the Middle East. He worked for American and International news agencies, including The New York Times, NPR, the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, the BBC and the Guardian as a journalist and translator in Iraq in 2003. Yerevan holds BA in Government from the University of Texas -Austin and a master’s degree from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, with focus on Middle Eastern Studies and International Negotiation & Conflict Resolution. He speaks Kurdish, Arabic and has a command of Farsi.
