Study abroad is strongly encouraged for students in this major. As study abroad programs vary in content and length of time, students wishing to study abroad must consult with their advisor about the applicability of the coursework abroad to the requirements for the student's major.
Depending on the program, courses taken abroad may count towards a student's concentration. To receive CONF 385 credit and meet the program's field experience requirement through a study abroad, students must obtain approval from the Director of Student Services and Field Experience.
Study abroad should be a structured program of study coordinated through the Center for Global Education or another University sponsored program.
S-CAR organizes field experience trips on a regular basis to many domestic and international locations. More than a traditional "study abroad", our field experience trips focus on conflict resolution practice, reflection, and service learning. These trips give students the opportunity to apply theories and concepts learned in the classroom while working in communities across the globe as well as close to home.
