The following information is a comprehensive list of funding opportunities that are available to students who wish to participate in service learning field experience. Not all of the resources apply to all individuals.

1. Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.

2. Boren Awards for International Study

Funding for US Study Online is an extensive database of scholarships, fellowships and grants organized and maintained by the Institute of International Education (IIE). Funding for US Study includes all types of funding programs, for all levels of post-secondary study, across the full range of academic areas.

Other Possibilities

Plan fundraising events with other students going on the trip.

Send letters requesting assistance to organizations that you think would be interested in seeing that work is being done in 1) conflict resolution 2) Africa or 3) conflict resolution in Kenya.

Contact media outlets in your hometown (newspaper and radio) and try to publicize your trip and need for assistance.
